Funny Story Break!

My son is 21 years old. When he was little and I would run errands, occasionally, I would have to use the restroom or he would. He was two at the time and I never let him go in the mens room alone. There is too much that can happen and I was protective of my baby (now babies). We had a system. He would go into the stall and then when it was my turn, he would stand up against the door and look at the door.

So, one day I had to take him in the restroom. We did what we always do and he went first. When it was my turn I noticed a foul smell coming from the stall next to ours. If you have children, you know that they don't care. They will tell you things, sometimes embarrassing things that they will say loudly. This time was no different. I hurried and hoped to goodness I could get him and I out before he smelled it. Right at that moment I saw his head go up. OH NO.

"Mom! What is that smell?" I was struggling to get my pants up and I started to giggle. I couldn't help it. It was just so funny. "Noah, shhh. No." He said, "MOM! What is that smell? It's stinky." I completely lost it. Laughing hysterically. I put my finger up to my lips and shushed him. "WHAT?!?!?!" While laughing I did the hand gesture again. "Why are you telling me not to talk, Mom?" He starts laughing because I can't help it. You cannot make this shit up (pun intended). At this point I'm trying to keep him in the stall because the poor woman who was next to us was washing her hands and honestly, I didn't want to face her.

"Mom! Why aren't we leaving???" He is struggling to open the door and I'm trying to keep us in there. As soon as she left, we came out, washed our hands and left. At the time, this story horrified me. It was hilarious and I thought to myself.... I'm going to remember this moment for the rest of my life. He was innocent and just wanted to know. I wanted to keep the poor woman's feelings in tact. In the end, I'm sure we ALL got a good laugh about it.

Moms and Dads, sometimes our children will embarrass us. However, these are moments that you will never forget and will make you love them all the more.
